Bringing Projection to an Historic Estate

Warehouse Digital collaborated with Illuminate Design to introduce projection mapping to Hestercombe House in Taunton as part of their Winter Illuminations. Our goal was to enhance their existing lighting display with a custom projection show that transformed the historic building into a dynamic visual experience.

Pre-Visualisation & Planning

To ensure a seamless execution, we created a detailed 3D model of the building using hundreds of reference images. This allowed us to:

Pre-visualise the projection design

Determine the best projector positions

Map content precisely to the building’s architecture

This process was invaluable in helping our client understand what was possible, ensuring clear communication from concept to installation.

Installation & Projection Mapping

We deployed two 32K-lumen projectors, carefully aligned to cover multiple walls of the house with precision. Using our custom mapping techniques, each wall became an individual projection surface, allowing for:

Seamless content animation across the structure

Perfectly aligned visuals that interacted with the building’s features

A Spectacular Winter Display

Once installed, the projection ran as the grand finale to Hestercombe’s Winter Illuminations, wowing audiences with a stunning digital showcase. The combination of projection and traditional lighting effects created an unforgettable experience for visitors.

Illuminate Design and the Hestercombe team were thrilled with the result, and we were proud to help bring this historic location to life through projection mapping.
