Little Shop of Horrors

Bringing the Madness to the Screen
at The New Wolsey Theatre

When The New Wolsey Theatre brought their actor-musician production of Little Shop of Horrors to the stage, they needed a high-energy trailer that matched the chaotic charm of a man-eating plant and a rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack. Warehouse Digital was there to capture the madness and bring it to audiences in the most dynamic way possible.

Capturing the Energy of an Actor-Musician Musical

With a show as wild and unpredictable as Little Shop of Horrors, we knew this trailer needed to be fast, fun, and full of life. Using our signature multi-camera setup, we filmed the dress rehearsal at the first venue, allowing us to:

Get up close and personal with handheld shots to capture the actors’ energy.

Use gimbal footage for those smooth, sweeping cinematic movements.

Quick-cut editing to match the pace of the show’s iconic soundtrack.

Showcase the actor-musician element, highlighting the multi-talented cast.

A Sound Designer’s Inside Knowledge

Warehouse Digital’s James Cook wasn’t just behind the camera—he was also the Sound Designer for the show, working alongside the creative team to bring the production to life. His first-hand knowledge of actor-musician musicals meant we knew exactly how to highlight the best moments and capture the sound-driven energy that makes this kind of theatre unique.

The Result: A Trailer That Sells the Show

The final trailer wasn’t just a showcase of the production, it was a ticket-selling machine. The New Wolsey Theatre, alongside co-producers Bolton Octagon, Theatre by the Lake, and Hull Truck Theatre, used it to engage audiences and drive bookings.

By combining our understanding of theatre, live music, and film production, we delivered a trailer as bold and unforgettable as Audrey II herself.
