Transforming Water into a Dynamic Projection Surface
As part of Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s Winter Illuminations, Warehouse Digital delivered a stunning projection and light show onto a specialist water fountain installed on a lake. The water fountain is designed specifically for projecting mapping, providing a unique and challenging canvas for the content of the show.
Bespoke Technology for Harsh Winter Conditions
For this two-month outdoor installation, we deployed two Panasonic 21K-lumen laser projectors, housed in a custom-built waterproof enclosure designed withstand the harsh winter conditions. Along with the projectors, we installed a weather proof control system that is able to run the projection and the lighting show – all synchronised together. As the site is a fair distance from our home base, we needed to be able to remotely support any issues that arose. Because of this, the entire system was designed for full remote access, allowing us to adjust content, timings, and audio levels from anywhere in the world.
Synchronised Projection, Lighting & Sound Experience
In addition to the projection, we installed and programmed a fully synchronised light show that complemented the visuals, creating an immersive experience for visitors. No show would be complete without a soundtrack to tie it all together. Adding to the immersion, we deployed weatherproof speakers along the trail path to further enhance the show.
Every evening, thousands of guests followed the Winter Illuminations trail, enjoying a perfectly timed fusion of light, projection, and music. By combining technical precision with creative storytelling, we helped Yorkshire Wildlife Park bring their lake to life with a mesmerising digital experience.
